Director of the General Secretariat of National Commissions and Conferences, ICESCO
Dr. Salem Al-Habaisi is an Omani academic and diplomat with over 28 years of experience in international relations, cultural diplomacy, and international cooperation. He currently serves as Director of the Secretariat of National Commissions and Conferences at ICESCO, where he coordinates national commission activities and strengthens institutional partnerships regionally and internationally.
He holds a PhD in International Relations with a specialization in Cultural Diplomacy and has represented the Sultanate of Oman at regional and global fora, contributing to the design of joint cultural and development initiatives and policies. He possesses extensive experience in negotiation and the management of multilateral programmes and projects, and in building effective partnerships among cultural and educational institutions.
Known for a balanced vision and a participatory, dialogue-based approach, he has helped consolidate ICESCO’s standing as an influential platform for knowledge, sustainable development, and capacity building across member states.
