Yasmine Hamdar is an AI Policy Specialist at UNDP, leading the development of AI strategies, governance frameworks, ethics reviews, and institutional capacity-building across the Arab region.
She collaborates with governments to integrate AI into public-sector innovation through national strategies, digital roadmaps, and pilot programs, while overseeing strategic partnerships and MoUs with UAE entities. Yasmine led UNDP’s AI Landscape and Readiness Assessments and contributed to national AI strategies in Colombia and Sri Lanka.
Previously, she served as Technical Manager at Data-Pop Alliance, managing AI and data science projects in digital transformation. She holds an MSc in Computer Science with a focus on AI from the American University of Beirut, where her thesis on AI-powered smart irrigation received the Best Thesis Award of 2021.
