He completed his B.Eng. (Hons.), M.Sc, and Ph.D. in computer engineering at Khalifa University, UAE. Essa is a recipient of many awards and recognitions such as the EmTech Innovators Under 35 Award and the m-Government Award for University Students (Government Summit 2014). Essa is also an active volunteer and was the IEEE UAE Section Chair for 2017-2018.
