Executive Director, SEE Institute, The Sustainable City – Dubai
Karim El-Jisr has 20 years of experience in resource management, climate change, and urban development. Based in The Sustainable City in Dubai, he currently manages the SEE institute – a global platform for advancing knowledge in sustainability and the built environment. Moreover, the institute uses The Sustainable City to deploy its programs, test emerging technologies and explore new urban trends.
He is currently establishing the Diamond Innovation Center – a multi-disciplinary organization which promotes low carbon living through innovation and partnerships.
Karim holds a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Engineering in Agriculture, and an MSc in Ecosystem Management from American University of Beirut. He also holds a course certificate in Business Sustainability Management from the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL).
A seasoned speaker at international venues, Karim is fluent in Arabic, English, French, and Danish.
