MBRF and ICESCO explore collaboration opportunities
Dubai, UAE, June 17, 2022- H.E Jamal Bin Huwaireb, CEO of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF), and Dr. Salim M. AlMalik, Director-General (DG) of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), explored future collaboration opportunities to foster development and build youth capacities.
During the meeting, H.E highlighted the Foundation’s programs and activities, including its gatherings and forums, the most notable of which is the “Knowledge Summit”. The seventh edition of the Knowledge Summit was held in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), under the theme “Knowledge: Protecting People and the Planet in the Pandemic”, with the wide participation of experts, leaders, and governmental officials from all over the world.
His Excellency further reflected on the annual reports issued by the Foundation and the UNDP, including “The Future of Knowledge: a foresight report”, which incorporates recommendations by policy makers that are set to promote collaboration and innovation capabilities while facing future challenges.
Meanwhile, AlMalik shed light on key visions and strategic trends of ICESCO, as well as the Organization’s most significant initiatives, programs, and activities, in collaboration with its specialized member states. These programs are set to promote development and foster fields of education, science, culture, while also strengthening values of collaboration and civilizational dialogue, building youth capacities, and preparing them to lead towards peace and security.
The meeting further addressed suggested prospects of collaboration between MBRF and ICESCO, including the Arabic language, promoting various knowledge aspects, sponsoring the youth, coordination, and partnership in future forums, and gathering held by the two parties.
The meeting concluded with the two sides agreeing to hold mutual meetings with the experts, to get acquainted with each other’s programs and activities. These meetings are set to prepare an operational plan for building a fruitful collaboration between MBRF and ICESCO.
