The Investment in Knowledge - H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of The MBRF

  • H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of The MBRF

As we prepare to celebrate the United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) 50th anniversary, we must rejoice and be proud of our dear homeland for it has gone out of its way to provide everything associated with goodness, peace, love and respect for human dignity.

The UAE’s helping hands extended to all walks of life and honored every person with a development idea, volunteer project or charity program, which has improved lives and uplifted communities. From this point, we understand the words of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai, in his tweet about the third season of the initiative: “We honor the exceptional role models.”

The UAE sees humanity as a priority, and invests in preserving it and its dignity. Based on our tolerant values and the legacy of the founding fathers of our country, the UAE launched an integrated literacy program, through which it established education centers, and provided many disadvantaged Arab regions with basic and technological education tools through various initiatives.

IN THE UAE, WE HAVE UNWAVERING HOPE
AND OPTIMISM IN OUR ABILITY TO MAKE A
POSITIVE DIFFERENCE IN OUR SOCIETIES.

MOHAMMED BIN RASHID AL MAKTOUM TWEETED ON
THE OCCASION OF THE 3RD SEASON OF HOPE MAKERS.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid launched the Literacy Challenge initiative which targets to reach 30 million Arab youth and children by 2030. In the same vein, the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) established the Literacy Challenge that seeks to promote knowledge and literacy including technological literacy. The intention is to ensure that no one in the Arab world lacks basic knowledge for sustainable development.

In addition to other initiatives and programs aimed at advancing the state of knowledge, the Arab Reading Challenge, for example, aims to prepare a reading and educated generation that can enter a race against time and cross the scientific gap that separates the Arab world from other regions.

So, we are implementing an integrated project for the advancement of humanity through the various vocabularies that develop the different aspects of life. In literacy and education, the UAE works hard towards an illiteracy-free Arab society, and providing our schools and universities with the latest international curricula and teaching systems. In our scientific research, we have a monthly conference dedicated to medicine, space or artificial intelligence. We dedicated a month to innovation and another to reading.

In all of these sectors, our beloved country keeps its doors open to anyone who wants to benefit from the Emirati experience, which is a shining example in economic development, infrastructure development, and in the pursuit of new and innovative ideas as well as tolerance for everyone.

It is a rare example of success in investing in the mind, and honoring everyone who searches for the creativity within the human being, and contributes even a little to providing a better life for others, and changing their reality positively.

The UAE has been persistent on implementing its plans of investing in knowledge in addition to other programs which gives an amazing story to the world. This success can change the dimensions of the knowledge map of the Arab world within ten years. Therefore, as we prepare to celebrate UAE’s 50th anniversary, we must rejoice, for the UAE is not only concerned about the wellbeing of its countrymen, but it touches the hearts of everyone who loves humanity.
