Dubai, UAE, 31 May 2022 - The Dubai International Program for Writing, an initiative organized by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF), has launched several books from their ‘Translation Workshop 2020’, ‘Short Story Workshop 2020’, and ‘Youth Literature Workshop 2020’, during the 31st Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, held from May 23 to May 29. The Foundation organized a unique pavilion that hosted a wide range of knowledge activities and events that were carried out in the presence of renowned writers, thinkers, and experts involved in the production and dissemination of knowledge.
The Dubai International Program for Writing is an initiative aimed towards enriching the intellectual and literary movement in the UAE and around the world. It is committed to encourage and empower young talents who possess the skill of writing in various fields of knowledge by enrolling them in specialized training programs that are supervised by the best Arab and international trainers.
H.E. Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of MBRF, said, “The Dubai International Program for Writing has provided the Arabic knowledge field with more than 300 young writers, whose skill and talent has been carefully honed to establish their eligibility to join the Writers Club, where they await a promising future. These young talents have been equipped with the highest degree of professional standards, and they have also gained practical experience on the most prominent training platform in the Arab world. We have also provided them with all the necessary support and every method to achieve their goals.”
The launch of the books completed under the Dubai International Program for Writing included various seminars throughout the days of the exhibition, which attracted a large audience. Each of the program's participants presented a methodology for the completion of their book and the role of the trainer in mentoring and correction, thus producing a completed book that has now been added to the Arab Library.
The book launches also coincided with the announcement of new training workshops entitled ‘Children Workshop - UAE Tomorrow,’ ‘Youth Workshop - Dubai the Future,’ and the ‘Scientific Translation Workshop’, which will focus on the scientific aspect of translation.
Professor Eslam Abushkair, mentor of the ‘Youth Workshop - Dubai the Future’ said, “The workshop focuses on introducing the artistic aspect of the novel's techniques and core elements. It aims to provide trainees with the required skills and guide them towards reading the present in Dubai and capture what can be utilized to create realistic, logical, and compelling perspectives of the future. This will drive transformation in the UAE for the next 50 years. It also ensures emphasis on the human aspect of a country’s development by building patriotic characters with strong identities that can interact with present conditions to realize their aspirations, will, and ambition.”
The Foundation provided an opportunity for visitors at its pavilion in the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair to learn about its services and roles through a detailed explanation provided by the team.
