MBRF and UNESCO explore avenues to expand collaboration in areas of mutual interest
17 April 2024 - His Excellency Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF), met with Dr. Borhene Chakroun, UNESCO’s Director of Policies and Lifelong Learning Systems division at the UNESCO Headquarters, to explore potential ways of strengthening cooperation in areas of shared interest.
The discussion took place during H.E. Jamal bin Huwaireb’s visit to Paris, where both parties discussed current challenges affecting the knowledge landscape. They further discussed ways to promote skill development and empower young individuals by equipping them with the necessary resources to enhance their prospects for successful careers in domains that suit their interests.
During the meeting, H.E. Jamal bin Huwaireb underlined the valuable contributions made by the MBRF in establishing innovative, knowledge-based societies. The MBRF’s commitment to strengthening collaborations with UNESCO and establishing strategic alliances to promote knowledge and educational advancement was also a key topic of discussion. His Excellency further emphasized the critical importance of improving access to long-term learning resources and implementing methods to empower the younger generation in the region.
Likewise, Dr. Borhene Chakroun outlined the lifelong learning programs that UNESCO has implemented, which concentrate on the importance of knowledge sharing, and transformative collaborations that promote scientific research and knowledge advancement. Both parties went on to reinforce the value of managing regional and international efforts to improve the adaptability and inclusiveness of educational practices, promote scientific research, and ensure academic empowerment within the community.
