MBRF delegation visits Saudi Arabia to strengthen collaboration in knowledge fields
Dubai, UAE, 22 October 2024 - A delegation from the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF), led by His Excellency Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of MBRF, visited the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) to conduct meetings and form strategic alliances with leading knowledge institutions across the nation. The delegation visited the UAE Embassy in Riyadh, the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL), and the headquarters of the King Faisal Prize in Riyadh.
The delegation also visited the King Abdulaziz Public Library pavilion at the Riyadh International Book Fair 2024 and met renowned literary and academic figures from public and private entities in KSA. These meetings aimed to foster collaboration and exchange of ideas while providing key insights on initiatives that can advance the knowledge and science domains. Moreover, such efforts are key to strengthening intellectual discourse within the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the broader Middle East, in line with the strategic goals of both nations.
H.E. bin Huwaireb highlighted the importance of such knowledge-based exchanges between countries with brotherly ties, as they contribute towards combined efforts to achieve shared goals and objectives. He further stated that such initiatives empower Arab youth, offering them an opportunity to hone their skills and contribute to the nation’s advancement.
He further stated: “We, at the MBRF, remain committed to forging strategic alliances and partnerships with various scientific, academic, and knowledge institutions across Saudi Arabia. Our dedication is led by an ambitious vision to spread knowledge for societal development, scientific research, and entrepreneurship while positioning the Arabic language as a key facet of the knowledge domain. Such strategic visits help facilitate significant collaborations and enhance relationships between nations. They also reflect the nations’ shared vision to advance the fields of literature, science, and knowledge while increasing their role in supporting intellectual and literary movements within the region.”
During the Riyadh International Book Fair 2024, H.E. bin Huwaireb met Dr. Mohammed Hassan Alwan, CEO of the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission in Saudi Arabia, to discuss avenues of collaboration that can support literary and knowledge initiatives. They also explored the latest publications by the ‘Dubai International Program for Writing’ on the Qindeel platform. His Excellency also met with Abdullah Al-Furaih, Director of Obeikan Publishing and Translation, Saudi Arabia.
At the King Abdulaziz Public Library booth, H.E. bin Huwaireb met Dr. Abdul Karim Al-Zaid, Deputy-General Supervisor of the library, and discussed possible collaborations in
the fields of publishing and knowledge exchange, with the delegation being briefed on the library’s key publications.
The delegation also met Dr. Abdullah Al-Washmi, Secretary-General of KSGAAL, and was welcomed by Dr. Abdul Aziz Alsebail, the Secretary-General of the King Faisal Prize.
Moreover, the MBRF delegation was received by H.E. Rashid Saif Al Dhaheri, Deputy Ambassador of the UAE to the KSA at the UAE Embassy in Riyadh. A meeting was then held to explore avenues to reinforce knowledge collaboration across diverse fields and exchange ideas on initiatives to enhance bilateral relations and promote intellectual development within the region.
