Dubai, UAE, 15 September 2026: The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) launched a series of new publications, including novels, literary criticism, and children’s literature, during its participation at the 35th Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF) 2026.
The publications reflect MBRF’s ongoing efforts to promote the Arabic language and enrich the Arabic literary landscape through diverse intellectual productions. They further contribute to advancing the Arab writing and publishing movement, providing researchers and readers with a wide range of high-quality references, while encouraging reading and establishing it as a daily habit among diverse societal segments.
The publications include the novel ‘Al-Hajira’ by Aseel Al Azzam, created as part of the novel-writing workshop held under the Dubai International Program for Writing (DIPW) in Jordan, with the supervision of Dr. Shahla Ujayli. The novel explores deep emotional and social dimensions, shedding light on internal conflicts, memories, and deeply rooted human emotions.
Furthermore, the collection includes ‘I See What I Want: Coherence and Cohesion in Arabic Poetic Discourse – Mahmoud Darwish as a Model’ by Hiba Fawzan Khalaf. Developed as part of DIPW’s literary criticism workshop held in Jordan under the supervision of Dr. Jamal Maqableh, the book offers an in-depth textual and linguistic understanding of the modern Arabic poetic discourse structure.
Also developed as part of the workshop is ‘Self in the Contemporary Emirati Novel: A Deconstructive Reading of Selected Models’ by Dr. Laith Saeed Al-Rawajfeh. The work aims to build critical awareness in reading Emirati narratives and offers profound insights into the dialectics of the self and its representations in novels.
The collection further includes ‘The Poetics of Presence and Absence in Contemporary Emirati Poetry: A Deconstructive Reading of Selected Models’ by Dr. Asmaa Raafat Olayan. It offers an expansive critical perspective, seeking to deconstruct the self and language in contemporary Emirati poetry. Another publication, ‘The Compass of Life: The Individual, Family, and Society’, serves as a comprehensive guide for improving one’s quality of life across various aspects.
Within the children’s literature category, MBRF unveiled a collection of inspiring works, including ‘When Colors Fell Silent’ by Ahmed Al Bahlouli; ‘A Cake Beyond Measure,’ written by Maryam Juma and illustrated by Aisha bint Khalifa; ‘Half a Lemon,’ written by Latifa Al Ketbi and illustrated by Asmaa Awad; and ‘The Wonder Hunter,’ written by Hind Al Khouri and illustrated by Khadija Al Musawi.
These works offer children a unique visual and intellectual experience, supporting their character development and broadening their perspectives through an engaging and interactive approach.
