Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation donates 1,500 school bags to children in an orphanage
March 29, 2022- As part of supporting social initiatives and encouraging students during their academic journey, The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF), in cooperation with the Apparel Group, the Community Development Authority in Dubai, the International Charity Organization in Ajman, and the Fujairah Charity Association, donated 1,500 school bags to children in an orphanage.
The initiative comes as part of the UAE’s national strategy to foster an educated population and establish the UAE as the capital of knowledge and culture. As such, the MBRF provided through this initiative its various publications, in addition to a unique set of educational stories within the school bags, as part of its effort to promote and support knowledge in society.
H.E. Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of MBRF, thanked the supporting institutions and associations, and said: "We constantly participate in social responsibility initiatives, as part of our commitment to support the society and the underprivileged. In addition to promoting knowledge, the initiative aimed at inspiring the youth to contribute to their communities through kindness and support. Through our networks of local and international partners, we strive to build a knowledge-based society, by financing research projects, activities, and initiatives in education, entrepreneurship, and research and development.”

“Through this activity of donating school kits, Skechers wanted to help out families facing financial hardship especially due to the ongoing pandemic. This year, we are happy to share that Skechers provided over 1,500 School kits. The school kits include school bags, lunch bags, pencil cases & water bottles. We believe that by supporting the kids and families during these unprecedented times, we could help in ensuring better education for underprivileged children. Through this initiative we aim to provide the school kits to as many needy students as possible. The school kit package included a backpack, lunchbox & pencil case. Children and teens loved their new school supplies and backpacks that arrived just in time for the start of school”, she added.
