Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation’s projects and initiatives promote sustainable reading

Dubai, 5 March 2025: His Excellency Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF), emphasized that the UAE’s wise leadership views knowledge as the cornerstone of individual development and a sustainable future. He said “The Month of Reading is a national occasion that reflects this steadfast commitment, fostering a culture of reading and inspiring our communities to embrace lifelong learning. This initiative reinforces the UAE’s position as a global beacon of knowledge."

H.E. added: “Reading is not merely a means of acquiring information; it is a bridge between civilizations, a tool for refining thought, and a source of inspiration and creativity. With this in mind, we are dedicated to launching and implementing innovative initiatives and projects that align with the rapid advancements in knowledge and digital transformation. These efforts aim to reach all segments of society, creating a supportive and stimulating knowledge ecosystem that empowers future generations to excel and innovate."

His Excellency highlighted the Digital Knowledge Hub (DKH) as a pioneering model in this endeavor, saying “This advanced platform enables users to access thousands of books, references, scientific articles, and research from anywhere at any time. It reflects MBRF’s commitment to providing renewable knowledge tools that cater to the demands of the digital age.”

He also underscored the pivotal role of the Dubai International Program for Writing (DIPW), “which serves as a catalyst for discovering and nurturing literary talent. Through specialized workshops and training programs, the initiative equips promising writers with the skills needed to enhance Arab literary production. This effort solidifies Dubai’s status as a global hub for creativity and innovation.”

In the same vein, His Excellency praised the Knowledge Lounge initiative as a dynamic platform for dialogue, bringing together intellectuals, authors, and avid readers to exchange ideas and deepen understanding. Meanwhile, the Bil Arabi initiative continues its mission to elevate the status of the Arabic language, promoting its presence both locally and globally while safeguarding the UAE’s cultural identity and heritage.

Concluding his remarks, His Excellency Jamal bin Huwaireb reaffirmed MBRF’s unwavering commitment to developing innovative strategies that disseminate knowledge and embed a culture of reading as a foundation for progress.
