Over the past five decades, the UAE wrote its story in letters of light. In the year 1971, the journey of a promising nation began, built on the firm foundations of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum for a country whose dreams were big. Thanks to the will, determination, enduring work and creative visions of the leadership, the dreams of the founding fathers have come true.
The achievements in various sectors are visible all around the country which makes us proud as children of this dear fatherland. Great achievements have been registered in infrastructure, lifestyle and enactment of non-discriminatory laws. The UAE has always opened its arms to everyone. It has become and will always be a home for millions of people of different nationalities and creed.

ANNOUNCING THE YEAR 2020 AS THE YEAR OF PREPARATION FOR THE
COUNTRY’S NEXT 50 YEARS.
Because of the wise leadership and its friendly people, the UAE has worked to encourage tolerance in its curricula, media vision, foreign policy, and humanitarian assistance.
As we read the journey of the past five decades, we have the right to be proud of a glorious country whose achievements are clear to everyone. It invested in man, education, health, and scientific research, innovation and creativity, reading and knowledge, and openness to various experiences. Wherever the benefit was for the people, the UAE was working on it. Therefore, the UAE seemed a bright and distinct spot in the region. The UAE’s ambition was not limited to that, but there was always more. The ambition was reaching the number one position in development, scientific experiments and ascending to space. We have really succeeded. We have the right once again to be proud of those global indicators that the UAE is at the forefront of some of them and at advanced positions in others.
The story of the Emirates is the story of the success of a people that started from the desert but achieved civilized leaps thanks to the will and belief in the capabilities of the self and the cohesion between people and leadership. The vocabulary of the Emirati is devoid of the word “impossible”.
As we read the achievements of the homeland, we have to think about what we will present to the Emirates during the next fifty years. Whoever suffices with his success will stop in his place, and he will soon retreat and be surpassed by others.
From this point, we have to think about the tweet of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in which he says, “Together, we will build the Emirates of the future in 2020 with the winning spirit of the Union. Our development journey has no end.”
Yes, our spirit is passionate about development, and this spirit must continue glowing in all sectors and areas of life. Everyone must enter into a comprehensive brainstorm to come out with the best that can be presented to the Emirates of the future.
In schools, laboratories and universities, in clubs and institutions, in forums and conferences, in all these places and on the various occasions in the Emirates throughout the year, each of us can put forward an idea to innovate and create something for this beloved country. The wise leadership immediately started working, as usual, by launching UAE’s brand identity - that will represent the country for the next 50 years - for a general vote. Therefore, everyone is a partner in this country, and everyone should work with the team spirit for the prosperity of the Emirates.
Yes, our spirit loves the peaks. We have reached some of them and shall continue until the UAE becomes a prominent country in the world. We must continue until the Emirates of the future reach the forefront of the countries.
