Education is the Core of Sustainable Development

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) recognizes the significance of education in any nation, and directs its efforts towards achieving quality education in schools and universities.

The wise vision of our leadership towards education and its tremendous and valuable support is not limited to UAE but extends to all people who are in need of knowledge and learning to enable them live dignified life.

This was the stage from which all the continuous accentuation to the importance of education emerges in each and every occasion, as it is the perfect method to build humans.

Last February, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, launched a project dubbed Madrasa which targets 1,000 villages in remote, under-served areas of the Arab World.

The project promotes learning using mobile e-platforms in refugee camps with no internet access, and provides 5,000 videos in science, math, biology, chemistry and physics to students from kindergarten to grade 12.

THERE’S ONLY ONE KEY TO THE SUCCESS OF
OUR SOCIETIES, ECONOMIES AND FUTURE:
EDUCATION.

His Highness is a pioneer believer in education as one of life’s basic necessities, which no one should be deprived from in the 21st century. The philanthropist activities of UAE leaders are concerned about the high illiteracy rates in some Arab countries, which drives them to provide assistance to their Arab brothers and sisters, since they know the adverse impact of illiteracy on nations, including poverty, extremism and ignorance.

The work never stops in our beloved country to reach the best performance followed by record results in education. During a cabinet meeting held last January, His Highness said: “We are counting on education in the race of nations. Investment in human development is the only investment that does not know loss. Our goal is to be the best in education globally.”

He also announced on Twitter a fund of about Dh5 billion for the Emirati School Model, which will be implemented in 800 public and private schools across the country for six years, and includes variable educational paths such as general and advanced, elite, technological and professional paths.

This Model covers all types of education, in which a path will be assigned for top students, with broader chances for innovation and creativity, a path for technological education, and another path for professional education, to meet the actual market needs.

The Model integrates to translate the UAE comprehensive developmental vision based on two main pillars: knowledge and action.

Based on His Highness’ statement; “Investment in human development is the only investment that does not know loss,” this model targets children and adults to shape the future based on our present, as we believe that we will reap what we sow.

Education lies in the essence of our developmental vision and its pillars of work and efforts, and the success of such a journey is a lifter for the community and economy.

Education is enriched by many means such as schools, universities, research centers, conferences, seminars and otherwise, which becomes an important element in UAE just like water and air.
