HH Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed emphasises MBRKA’s pivotal role in fostering knowledge development

Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) and Member of the Dubai Council, underscored the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Award’s (MBRKA) vital role in advancing knowledge, highlighting its ongoing and impactful contribution to knowledge development. Her Highness also congratulated Professor Katalin Karikó and Dr. Drew Weissman, who won the 2023 Nobel Prize in Medicine for their discoveries that contributed to the development of coronavirus vaccines.

Through a post on the social media platform ‘X’, previously known as Twitter, Her Highness said, “The MBRKA remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering knowledge development. We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Prof. Katalin Karikó and Dr. Drew Weissman for receiving the 2023 Nobel Prize in Medicine for their vital contributions to the development of coronavirus vaccines. The two scientists are already recipients of the MBRKA 2022, which promotes scientific research and innovation.”
