MBRF delegation explores collaboration opportunities with Egypt’s Ministry of Youth and Sports
January 26, 2023- His Excellency Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF), led a delegation that met H.E. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth & Sports at Arab Republic of Egypt, to explore potential collaboration opportunities in various fields between the two parties. During the visit to the Ministry’s headquarters, the MBRF delegation also updated the Minister on the outcome of the Youth Knowledge Forum, as well as discussed the possibilities of organising the forum in Egypt.
H.E Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of MBRF, said: “Knowledge is considered as a strong base for any developmental strategies and plans. The youth, who represent our nation's greatest wealth, contribute significantly to creating the foundations of knowledge with their perseverance, determination, ambitions, and will. In light of this, MBRF is keen to promote collaboration with Egypt, especially the Ministry of Youth and Sports, as we share the common vision and ambition to empower and motivate the youth, and to support them to employ their creative talents and capacities to lead the development and growth of communities.
“The collaboration between MBRF and the Ministry has much wider possibilities which place the youth as key to advancement and development. We look forward to exploring different areas to promote collaboration in introducing programs and initiatives, like the Youth Knowledge Forum, which has become a leading platform to drive knowledge excellence amongst the youth. Furthermore, it encourages the youth to take on knowledge challenges by attaining new heights of success in various sectors.” H.E. added.
Dr. Shoby welcomed MBRF CEO and the other delegation members while highlighting the fruitful collaboration between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and MBRF in different aspects that support the Egyptian youth and community. The minister further stated that the Foundation's reading index, which is acknowledged worldwide, is very significant, and added that Egypt and the ministry are relentlessly working to spread science and knowledge among youth.
In addition, the Minister highlighted that informational development is one of the pillars of cooperation, as there are many indicators that the Ministry relies on cooperation with MBRF, such as the ICT index, which is an indicator that expresses the individual's proficiency in information technology. He further underscored the Ministry’s keenness to collaborate with MBRF to promote science and knowledge as well as to eradicate illiteracy in all its forms among all segments of society.
