Hope is Emirati

The future will remember well the early hours of the dawn of July 20, 2020. Our children and grandchildren will feel proud while listening to stories about that great moment. We have all witnessed, and the whole world witnessed with us, the launch of the UAE’s “Hope Probe” to Mars. They are moments in which lessons are multiplied, not only the significance of the name of the probe itself, nor the role of the UAE in leading the Arab nation once again to restore to its old glories, in a new modern style, but what the UAE has done after 50 years of continuous achievements, is worth celebrating. UAE invested in people, and on its golden jubilee; it is exploring space.

The splendor of this moment increases, coinciding with the pandemic that the whole world has suffered from, in which life stopped in many sectors, but the UAE succeeded in dealing with Covid-19 at various levels to the surprise of everyone. In the bleak months of the epidemic, work was in full swing to launch the probe. The success here is doubled, as is the case with all the achievements of our beloved country.

The Emirati lesson to the world is that life continues and accelerates. We live in a country in which hard and diligent work is not stopped for one minute, and as a result of this activity, the UAE assumed its rightful place at the forefront of the emerging and promising experiences. It was difficult to imagine the stalling of the development wheel in a country marked by these achievements even in a different historical circumstance such as the Coronavirus pandemic.

IN THE UAE, OUR ASPIRATIONS ARE HIGH... OUR MOTIVATIONS
ARE HIGH... MORE IMPORTANTLY, OUR GOVERNMENT IS FLEXIBLE
AND PROACTIVE... AND OUR TEAM OF TALENTED PROFESSIONALS
IS RESPONSIBLE AND DEDICATED TO OUR GOAL.

WHILE CHAIRING THE REMOTE CABINET MEETING

Work continued vigorously thanks to the advanced infrastructure with its flexibility and capabilities which allowed us to practice our various activities remotely. We have succeeded in various fields of work, and we must now reflect on the experience and take advantage of the challenges to invest in new opportunities as encouraged by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai. The pandemic was an opportunity to deal with the tools of the future, to examine its dimensions and how the nature of life and behavior will be in it.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid summarized the previous meaning, saying: “There is no place for the old ways in our system.” His Highness tried on his own and continued the work of his government team in various fields. Sheikh Mohammed wanted to tell us the outcome of the challenge and explain that there is no place for traditional visions, ideas or methods after Coronavirus. From this point, the value of the probe that bears the name of hope stemmed, as HH Sheikh Mohammed says “We are greater than any challenge”. We go beyond the present to embrace the future.

We have benefited from the challenge of the epidemic. We can say: The image of our country has been strengthened at the international level. Our hands are still extended with goodwill and aid to different parts of the earth. In addition to the advanced levels of medical procedures through which we have fought Coronavirus and won the praise of many international organizations as well as a clear solidarity between citizens and residents and our wise leadership, all of which culminated in the launch of Hope Probe.

But, as usual, we want more, we seek ideas that some may find strange, but this is our destiny, our approach, the lesson of our country’s great leadership, and our addition to the world. We aim to get to number one - as our leadership always says - with confidence and strength.

The Coronavirus crisis showed the precious essence of our homeland, the land of accomplishments, love, goodness, the home of innovation and creativity and the land of opportunities. It is necessary to learn to dream differently, as there is no place in the homeland of hope for traditional dreams.

We did not just defeat Coronavirus, but we achieved the impossible, as most Arabs believed for decades that our ascent to space belongs to myths: the ghouls and the phoenix. But it is the UAE that has never recognized the impossible
